Robert Howard noted labor leader dies at 57
The Hon. Robert Howard once seen as the state’s leading labor figure died at his home 2088 Washington Street after a two year illness. He was born in Northwich England in 185 and rose from spinner to leader of the Stockport Spinners' Association and elected to public office in 1880s. His long career included labor reform advocacy and national federation roles. He leaves a wife a daughter and a funeral is planned for tomorrow morning.

Serious Van Assaults Reported In City
