Sergeant Gianfelice Gino of the Italian Flying Corps established a new speed record by flying a Spa fighting plane from Langley Field to Washington in one hour. The 145 mile route was flown from 12:50 to 1:50 in the afternoon, bringing the distance to 145 miles.
