Sailor stabbed in early morning assault near Lewis and North streets
At about two in the morning officer Ham found three men fighting near Lewis and North streets. Two fled while a wounded man later died from a neck wound, likely a knife thrust. The deceased was unidentified at first, later identified as Michael Looney, a nineteen year old from Oliver street. Patrick Sullivan and John Corkle were arrested. Looney allegedly stabbed the victim. a robbery motive is suspected. Coroner Moore to hold an inquest.
