Mrs Frances R Haines sues for separate maintenance from Dr Ignatius Haines of Cambridge alleging cruel treatment. Dr Haines testifies detailing alleged actions by his wife including a dramatic recounting of their past marriage in Chicago and the couple’s brief honeymoon.

In Fall River on April 23, 17 year old Edward F. Moriarty shot himself after leaving a note to Mamie Burke saying he died for her. He declared his love and chose death rather than disgrace, causing police to retreat before he killed himself.
A troubled boy, previously before Juvenile Court twice, killed himself in a summer cottage on the bay after a police entry at 3 30 a m. Officers Wiley and Hampston forced a confrontation with a revolver in Moriarty’s hand before he leaped from a second floor window.

Wu Ting Fang the Chinese minister to the United States attended a Boston Merchants' Association banquet at the Algonquin Club. Gowned in a purple Oriental robe, he was cheered by more than 150 business leaders who greeted him with cordial reception and smiles.

At the Naval Hospital Aronson the Harvard baseball player injured during a game with the midshipmen was reported doing nicely. His father was expected to reach Annapolis from New Haven. He was hurt sliding to a base and feared concussion and skull fracture.

Chief Spencer of Chelsea fire department told a Post reporter last night that he suspects arson in a second blaze after the Boston Blacking Company fire. He notes 20 residents claim the second fire was not started by the first and says the first fire produced only smoke from rosin and tar, not sparks.
Deputy Chief Neal holds evidence suggesting an organization in Chelsea linked to the section where fires began. Chief Spencer doubts such an organization exists but acknowledges possible understanding. He notes about 100 similar fires have occurred.

A blaze in Sardusky's two story Main Street block started at a drug store and spread to Freeman's and Leary's drug stores, Richmond Hardware, Chamberlain's harness shop, the post office, Curry's livery stable, the Masonic block, Park View House, and the Belleview Hotel before it was checked by a Burlington special train and hose wagon. The ex President Cleveland remains in Lakewood as guests depart the Pines hotel. Mrs. Cleveland, who left for Princeton yesterday, returned this afternoon after the 5 pm express stopped for her. A bulletin says he is doing very nicely with no alarm, while secrecy fuels concern among friends.
