From the Sunlit Farewell to a Beloved This Night
A lyrical lament on a lost beloved describing the dead maid with cold grave imagery. The poem laments the absence of eyes, hair, and voice, and recalls the last kiss and the somber sound of the coffin. Interleaved commentary reviews a German phrase book and Florence De Lacey novel noting their reception and value.
