In Indianapolis on April 22 observers report the arrival in New York of the Hendricks monument complete from Florence. Ninety crates of granite four crates of bronzes and total weight over two hundred tons. About fifteen cars will carry the work to this city and unveiling is set for late May.

A ban on deer and wild fowl exports by foreigners was loosened if foreigners own Canadian premises. Norfolk despatch reports Lt. C. E. Vreeland of the Coast Survey steamer Blake will sail to Boston to collect buoys and gear for a forty mile speed trial course from Cape Ann northward via Portsmouth and the Isles of Shoals. Buoys every ten miles and shore ranges will mark the path with tugs at buoys to provide a range after completion.

Despatch from Lacrosse reports W H Graves president of the Farmers and Merchants Bank of West Salem has left town with his wife and child. He is said to have defrauded the Pierre Bank of Commerce of 276 and an investigation is expected to reveal a troubled affair.
