Crowd Waits But Tenor Fails to Board Canopic
Enrico Caruso planned to sail to Italy aboard the Canopic on May 22 but did not appear at Commonwealth pier South Boston drawing a crowd and moving picture crews. The Canopic carried 27 first class 54 second class and 293 third class passengers bound for Azores Gibraltar Naples and Genoa. aboard were Bishop Louis S Walsh and Rev Martin A Cleary.
