A visit to about thirty saloons showed most temporarily suspend strong drinks while a few defy marshal orders. Albert A. Cluly, a Savage’s Hotel clerk in Kenduskeag, was jailed for alleged $500 embezzlement and ordered to a $600 recognizance. Authorities seized lager from the steamer Katahdin and plan further seizures. In Manchester, the Daily Mirror editors oppose Cragin's reelection to the Senate, urging rotation in office. A Lake Massabesic regatta is teased with Walter Brown among favored rowers.
