Black Hand Letter Leads to Westford Arrest

Lowell April 20 Ward Eaton 24 was arrested in Westford on suspicion in a blackmail case tied to Abbott Worsted Mills head Julian Cameron. A $5000 demand was mailed unsigned from Lowell to Forge Village. Eaton allegedly posed with a dummy package and was later held for larceny as Cameron presses charges. Eaton, married, previously worked for Cameron and resides in Forge Village.

Jury to View Scene in Somerville Murder Case

Twelve jurors were seated for the trial of Chester S. Jordan on the charge of murdering his wife in their Somerville home on Sept. 1, 1908. Mother risks life to save child from street car

A Somerville mother, Allison J. Bradeen, shielded three year-old Ruth A. Bradeen from a Broad Way outward bound Medford Hillside car yesterday afternoon. She was knocked down by the vehicle and rolled under the fender until her body touched the forward trucks, saving the child from being crushed.

Woman Saves Child From Car At Walnut Street Tragedy
