Death of famous French sculptor M Falguiere and career notes

Paris reports the death of M Falguiere after illness following surgery for a tumor. The sculptor born in 1831 in Toulouse created many public statues including Gambetta at Cahors and Lafayette in Washington. He attended the Nimes unveiling amid ill health and his works featured at the Paris Salon and Exposition.

Weavers Strike Over Work Quota At Lowell Mills

Mrs Jessie Derricks defies a two and a half pieces per week limit used by the Women's Weavers Union at the Bigelow carpet mills.
