Montigny cites northern Chinese arsenic in tobacco, with missionaries claiming arsenic free tobacco is unavailable and smokers described as stout with strong lungs. Dr Londe reiterates his remark that smoking arsenic is the only proven tuberculosis remedy. Cincinnati fire department cost for year ending April 1, 1855 was 90 576 17 dollars. The department had sixteen companies, 380 members, 493 pipemen and officers, 28 engines, 34 hose carriages, and 29 863 feet of hose.
