Cyclone Roars Through Missouri Town Killing Seven
Independence reports a fierce cyclone that swept Brownsville in Saline county at 4 30 PM Monday destroying the business district. Seven people were killed and 20 to 39 injured as two story brick buildings and frame homes were demolished and carried away in a less than two minute vortex. Additional injuries and details follow from Cincinnati sources. A hurricane warning extends to Alabama with rain and wind causing damage from Evergreen to Mobile and Montgomery areas.

At Reading Lord Chief Justice Coleridge charged the grand jury in the MacLean case for attempting to shoot Queen Victoria on March 2. A true bill for high treason was returned. MacLean pleaded not guilty on insanity as a defense. Witnesses from Salisbury and Broadmoor testified to insanity. A verdict of not guilty by reason of insanity was returned by one jury.
