Curtin arraigned on murder charge in Salem court

John Curtin was arraigned in the district court at Salem before Judge Osgood on a murder charge. District Attorney Hurlbut represented the government and P. J. McCusker the defendant. By agreement the case was continued to Saturday and Curtin was committed to jail without bail. He declares his innocence. City Marshal Hart and State Officer Shaw described efforts to capture him. The government will likely present evidence Saturday morning.

Funeral arrangements for Lucius Beebe in Wakefield

The late Lucius Beebe will have private services at his Main Street home Saturday at 10 45 A M. The remains will lie in state from 12 to 2 PM in the town hall before a guard of honor.
