Gloucester schooner Hazel Oneita rescues shipwrecked French crew

The Gloucester fishing schooner Hazel Oneita towed the Assumption into harbor after sighting it off Sable Island on April 18. Heavy seas and eight fathoms of water challenged the rescue as Captain Geely maneuvered a dory crew to reach the distressed vessel.
