In Vienna on April 15 Theodore Roosevelt was greeted with royal dignity as the Austrian court arranged a grand program. Emperor Francis Joseph bestowed a private audience at Hofburg palace, signaling unprecedented honor for the visiting American.
The Austrian monarch in imperial uniform spoke 35 minutes with ex President Roosevelt and kept details private. Francis Joseph planned to return the call at Schoenbrunn Castle but a late storm forced him to send an aide, honoring no other than reigning sovereigns with such invitations.

Mrs Catherine Center 62 died from severe burns after a fire started in her stove on Beacon street Somerville second floor yesterday afternoon. Neighbors Mrs John Dwyer and Joseph McCarthy suffered minor burns while aiding the blaze. the victim’s granddaughter was away. Survived by husband Gustav J Denter one son and two daughters.
William Clary a 17 year old was found rifling the Ryan brothers saloon cash drawer at 1 AM at 61 Oak Street. Patrolman Clemenson pursued him through the store after a break in with two accomplices escaping. Police believe they know the others involved.
