In Pascoag Rhode Island, Martin Mowry killed Mr and Mrs Rey Nolds and their adopted daughter before setting the house on fire to cover up the crime. Investigators describe Mowry as a murder suspect and arson offender.
Guans take Banes near Gibara as 2400 rifles 500000 cartridges and artillery are landed by the Laurada. Spanish reinforcements move toward Banes to recapture the seaport while patriots fortify shores and scuttle the quay with torpedoes to block gunboats.

Burglars ransacked the home of Mrs. William A. Butler at 1 Fairfield Street Roxbury yesterday afternoon taking twelve silver teaspoons a gold scarf pin a gold watch two gold chains and various small jewelry items valued at an amount not disclosed.
Reports from Larissa confirm Greek irregulars captured Baltino as Turkish forces swung into a costly firefight. Davelis led a mountain position near Krania before Turkish detachment losses and Greek counterattacks. Greeks pressed toward Kipuri and Grevena, with fresh troops arriving and Baltino houses burned.

In Oakland at the Elisha Mowry farm Martin Mowry killed Edward Robinson his wife and their 16 year old adopted daughter Servilla then set fire to the house. Mowry was found in a hayloft muttering of love for Servilla and claimed masked robbers stole 200 dollars. He attempted suicide twice and was held without bail until April 21.
The Bank Officers Association of Boston, with about 700 bankers, voted confidence in General A P Martin and supported Howard National Bank's actions at his hearing on Beacon Hill. Governor Wolcott attended. Grover Cleveland was cheered, while McKinley drew silence as speeches closed with a banker's resolution from George B. Ford.
