Wilhelmina Case Settled Over Order in Council Rights
The Wilhelmina owners say the settlement followed March 23 Order in Council allowing Britain to seize any cargo, neutral or not, with damages. They argue their right under international law to send Wilhelmina cargo to Germany. Britain offered full compensation and stayed prize court proceedings, acknowledging changed conditions under March 11 measures. The note asserts the British action reflects substantial justice of the owners' claims.
