Odd 19th Century Notes From Quebec and Davenport

A mixed bulletin reports the first woodcock of the season at Lorette, Parker’s second sermon on revivals, an authorship debate over Virgil, and Ebenzer Cook’s mayoral win in Davenport with Hill running for constable. Also listed are sheet music publishing, local prices for Oregon lumber and crops, a Boston books auction, a curious tale of a four year old weighing 170 pounds, Virginia tax and emancipation bills, pardons, a Maryland woman’s death by clothes fire, specie resumes in Georgia and Virginia banks, Irish politics in New Haven, a Philadelphia adulterer case, and a compliment to Mr Read’s Brattle Street shop.
