Paulist Choirs Shift from Chicago to New York Base
The Paulist Choristers, founded in 1904 with an international reputation, moved their headquarters from Chicago to Libby Castle on Fort Washington Avenue in New York City. The Chicago roots and a 1918 six month tour are noted, with a Boston program mixing Renaissance, Bach, Russian modern, and folk pieces featuring solo boys and tenor John Finnegan. Father Finn conducts, and fifty choristers reside at the choir school.
