CHATHAM April 1 The steamer Williamsport of the Philadelphia Reading Coal Company sank at Pollock Rip after colliding with a barge in tow of tug Plymouth. All 22 aboard escaped with their lives as the ship went down in four fathoms of water. Paxinos grounded on the shoal. Monomoy life savers rescued the barge crew. The Williamsport, built in 1874, was valued at about $60,000 and is likely a total loss.
