Wallace Ross received word from Hanlan that Ogdensburg New York offers a purse of 2560 dollars plus expenses to host the race. Ross agreed to row under those terms and told Hanlan to finalize with the Ogdensburg party.

Keene was found dead in his stable Tuesday with no cause given beyond momentary insanity. Charles W. Ordway, indicted for second degree manslaughter in a stepmother’s death at London New Hampshire on February 2, was released on his own recognizance Tuesday.
