Ohio primary declared impossible for Taft Foraker delegates
Columbus April 9 Attorney General Wade H Ellis says Ohio cannot hold a primary this year to choose State delegates to the national convention next year. Laws forbid such a primary with municipal elections and a voluntary primary lacks a fraud statute and broad participation. The fight may force a split delegation unless Taft or Foraker withdraws. Foraker and Taft camps vow continued effort. Foraker supporters claim a majority of delegates.
