A woman reports being coerced by a patrolman at Station 1 Hanover Street to accompany him to a nearby hotel where he demanded money. She identified the officer from a hotel register check and claimed he took $5 after leaving her. charges to follow.
Crowds mobbed King Leopold II in Brussels as Socialists protested his arrival and a Spanish Republican delegation departed. Police and troops prepared to quell further trouble while riots in Liège and Ghent injured several and targeted Catholic symbols. The army and gendarmes were placed on alert as authorities feared further disturbances.
April 9 four men burglarized George H. Talbot's Norton storehouse. Officers returned fire as the gang fled. Diego Wihler, alias Tishler, was wounded in the thigh and hospitalized. Two wagons and horses were seized. two accomplices escaped. Tishler claims Wrentham residence.
Miss Bertha Bryant an 18 year old Spencer girl is reported missing from her home. Her father Edward H Bryant a constable in Spencer was in Worcester seeking her. A note said she would visit relatives in Worcester. A separate report from Whitinsville says Henry Hbbetts, a 22 year old mulatto, is missing.
Special Officer Burr of Division 5 confronted a man tied to a late night alley scene. The suspect, William Whittier of 10 Auburn Street, offered no clear purpose for the encounter. A knife, odd keys, and iron bolts were found on him, and he was booked as a suspicious person.
Edward Hassett a 15 year old crossing tracks near South Terms meat yesterday morning was struck by an engine and suffered a skull fracture. He is on the dangerous list at City Hospital. Police learned his father lives on Summer street Worcester and asked Worcester authorities to notify him. A sister, Mrs Barnes, was said to live on Broadway Malden but could not be located.

Placido Russo died at City Hospital after being shot by an Italian named Malavi at 82 Warrenton Street on Monday. Malavi’s whereabouts have since been located by authorities.
