Funeral of Lansing Millis City rail leader noted in Boston

The funeral for Lansing Millis president of the Ogdensburg and Lake Champlain railroad and CV railroad freight manager, held from his Millis home, drew prominent Boston mourners and many railroad officials. Services at Oak Grove farm and First Baptist church featured brief eulogies, with widespread tributes, floral displays, and a large attendance from business and railroad circles. The interment is planned for Lansingburg, N. Y., with offices and freight houses closing in tribute.

John Colwell of Pittsfield, a saloon keeper, failed. Montreal importers Yugeant and Desncroie assigned. Debts largely due in England. Harvey Willey of Worcester, Vermont block trader, insolvent. W. H. Conant of East Peru, Me., attached. H. W. Williams of Providence failed. George H. Bough of Oswego failed and assigned to Henry E. Dunning. William A. Hanrahan of Wappingers Falls failed and assigned. Hudson & Hudson of Pollocksville failed. The Farmers’ Bank of Norfolk VA did not open. assignment to Walter E. Irvine for creditors. Superior Court First Session Damages for North Charles Street Land

In Boston on April 9 Judge Pitman presided over petitions for juries to fix damages for land on North Charles street taken for a public park. Wm Sohier and Franklin C Waren petitioners and lessee participated, with J G Abbott A T Lovering for petitioners and T M Babson for defendants. Also Edward R DeLong et al v Jos W Gurnsey, a contract suit seeking 98844 with 1900 for borrowed money and the rest for merchandise. J B Richardson represented plaintiffs, Chas E Gunnell and A D Besson for defendants.
