The 1842 Porto Rico trade report shows imports totaling 5,757,403 dollars and exports at 5,429,257 dollars. Vessel breakdowns include 1,059,266 on national ships, 2,353,015 on foreign-flagged national vessels, and 2,345,123 on foreign-flagged Tiles ships for imports. exports distribute as 1,003,513, 562,535, and 4,564,208 respectively. Duties on trade and harbor charges amounted to 1,438,351 dollars, about one fourth of imports.
