English White Stone China Dinner Ware and Rich Drawing Room Furniture Auction

On Tuesday next at 1 o'clock at office 0 crates of white stone china ware including 60 percent plates and 5 sizes and 500 bowls plus glass ware items and a rich drawing room furniture collection. The drawing room items feature a crimson and gold ottoman suite by Lawson valued at 3500 dollars, oak dining set, black walnut toilet table, blue satin damask ottoman, Canton lacquer sets, and carved sandalwood tables. Paintings from a gentleman leaving the city accompany the sale.

Reading Railroad gains strong tonnage and potential profits

The Reading Railroad tonnage rose to 46 036 tons for the week ending Thursday, totaling 508 759 tons for the year, with profits anticipated from the current toll rate. Schuylkill Navigation shipments reach 25 567 tons for the season, coal shipments from Lehigh resume amid better boatmen supply and higher freights, and most expected coal production for the season has been sold at favorable prices.

Late tariff notice from Boston colony duties list

The Boston Post reports a new tariff effective on passage listing duties such as ale and beer six pence per gallon, coffee and chicory one shilling per pound, spirits ten shillings per gallon, sugar six shillings per hundredweight, tea sixpence per pound, tobacco two shillings per pound, wine two shillings per gallon, cigars three shillings per pound, with all other goods free.
