John C Lynch alias Smith and alias Aarons, who broke jail in Boston toward the end of last year, remains at large as authorities pursue leads and coordinate with federal agencies to recapture the fugitive.
The career of Charlestown native John Lynch alias John C Casey spans crimes from 1887 assault and drunkenness to April 1887 robberies. He assaulted Patrolman Ryan, robbed him, and was rescued from the river. Sentenced to seven years, released 1889 for good behavior, then another bold robbery in fall 1890 earning six more years. he escaped via a sewer on July 8 with eight companions.
A Gloucester mass schooner Genesta capsized in a Barnegat squall at four this morning. Five crewmen Hastings Butler Clark McKenny and two Doane brothers are dead. twelve survivors reached Breakwater aboard Laughing Water. Genesta valued at $10 000 with sixty tons ballast and a full fishing outfit.
