Marine Journal finds ships from many ports in mid Atlantic

Shipping news lists multiple vessels with origins and destinations including Columbiana Barker from Liverpool, Win Gray from New Orleans, Adeline Eliza and Micaela from Matanzas and Portland. Entries note recent positions near Georges Bank and Cape Cod, arrivals, dispositions, and sailings from Calcutta to London, Antwerp, and New York with several schooners brigs and steamers noted.

Ship Camilla and Osceola suffer damage in gale near New York

In heavy weather Camilla at New York lost her cutwater and sustained other damage. Osceola at Guayama, PA, on the 23d, while lying to in a NW gale, lost boats, chain-boxes, jib boom and incurred further damage. Pearce the mate was injured, and the cook scalded when the galley capsized. Prince de Joinville also damaged in rigging and sails. Henrietta, Baltimore from Nassau, reports wreck of a ship near the Keys with crew arriving after nightfall. captain had his wife aboard and the vessel was lost locally.
