In Saco Maine on April 4 Mr. O F Page sold the Bay View house and its contents plus the land and adjacent lots to Emma Manson and her son Albert C Manson, owners of Ocean House Old Orchard and Augusta House Augusta. They will run all three properties this season with A C Manson directing Ocean House and Mrs Manson supervising Bay View. Augusta House remains under its head clerk. The Bay View sale reportedly brought a handsome price.
The measure asks voters to empower the general assembly to regulate traffic in intoxicating liquors and to permanently prohibit the manufacture and traffic of intoxicating liquors for beverage use. The assembly would provide enforcement under the amendment.

Hatch & Co sold the Coolidge house in Bowdoin Square, estate of the Coolidge heirs, a five story granite hotel occupying about 12316 feet of land taxed at 150000. Bidding rose to 149750 and the property was knocked down to J Murray Howe, agent for an unknown purchaser.
A cable message to Harvard College Observatory from Dr Krueger of Kiel announces the discovery of the Arrest comet by Dr E Hartwig of the Strassburg Observatory. It gives the position for April 3 at 61 Greenwich mean time with right ascension 13h55.4m and declination north plus unspecified minutes and seconds. The comet is described as very faint.
Chicago dispatch reports that Tugraham and Green, convicted for the Cash Mitlett murder, were hanged by a mob of 35 masked men in Hastings, Nebraska, last night. The fate of Babcock, the other accused, is unknown.

Peter Cooper, veteran philanthropist and founder of the Cooper Institute, died in New York at 3:50 am on Wednesday, April 4, at age 92. Born February 12, 1791, in New York City, he built diverse enterprises from hat making to rail work, funded the first Atlantic telegraph cable, and supported public education and relief efforts. His widow, Miss Sarah Bedel, survived him along with two of their six children.

Isaac Cushing of 81 Newby street reports a sneak thief entered via an open front door on Wednesday evening and stole two coats and a silver mounted inkstand valued at 05 dollars. Sarah Milnan, arrested Wednesday night by the 10th Division, is charged with larceny of a gold watch from Emily Gilfoy of 27 Benton street. Frei Garret, 30, arrested by Inspector Knoad on Wednesday for pocket picking in front of Jordan, Marsh Co with handkerchiefs found in his possession.
