The 27th union temperance meeting was held at Tremont temple on Sunday under the Temple of Honor. A large audience attended with Mr. J. H. Roberts presiding. Prayer was led by Rev. M. K. Leonard, grand chaplain of the Temple.

Otis S. Randall arrested for receiving stolen property. Municipal court records show arraignment on March 17 with a not guilty plea and $500 bond for March 23. Bond extended to March 24. he withdrew the plea and was fined $1 plus $12.15 costs.

Prof P J Lackersteen a Hindoo gentleman formerly of Calcutta now a local resident gave a lecture at Cadman hall last evening on Brahminism Buddhism and Mohammedanism. He contrasted founders with their followers noting degenerate trends and argued in defense of Mohammedanism.
