Quilt Exhibit Attracts Old and Rare Pieces In May
Lebanon hosts a quilt and counterpane display in the First Baptist basement on May 5. Local women loaned textiles range from indigo blue and white pieces dating to 1845 and 1849, with borders showing flowers, birds, and historic references. Admission is ten cents, proceeds aid the Third Ward Building, and many pieces carry familial stories and historic ties to Mary E. Darnall, Sarah J. Bryan, Mrs. By ran, Mrs. Garver, and others. Also noted is a court notice regarding the Ella J. Allen estate requiring heirs and creditors to appear April 14, 1914.
