Sheridan Condensed Milk Plant Hosts Lebanon Visitors

A Lebanon party toured the Indians Condensed Milk Co. plant in Sheridan on Friday, inspecting operations after a three machine trip. The plant, in operation twelve years, processes 100,000 pounds of milk daily and employs 58 people. Milk is tested for butter fat and acidity twice weekly, with different cows yielding 4 to 5 percent butter fat. The facility fills 100,000 cans daily, uses Phelps filling, and pasteurizes milk at 212 and 190 degrees in copper and vacuum tanks. The group toured, dined at the Thistle-Waite Hotel, and learned of Lebanon’s planned condensory foundation work.
