Mississippi Lt Gov Johnson found in contempt over Meredith case

A federal appeals court ruled Lt. Gov. Paul B. Johnson of Mississippi in contempt for blocking James H. Meredith from entering the University of Mississippi. If he does not comply by 11 a.m. Tuesday, Johnson faces up to 5,000 dollars per day in fines while Gov. Barnett may face harsher penalties.
