Collision on U S 82 causes $1000 damage near Bonham
Highway Patrolman R L Walker investigated a Sunday afternoon collision on U S 82 east of Bois d Arc bridge. James Weldon Cockrill 19 of Bonham and Louis N Kinnard 73 of Leonard drove westbound. Cockrill passed and struck Kinnard, who required hospital care then was released after checkup. Another incident saw Pokey Richardson escape injury when his car left the bridge after apparently dozing.

Refugees Flee Coastal Carla to Central Texas
Thousands from the Texas Gulf Coast evacuated to Central Texas as Hurricane Carla neared.
