Bonham Joins 1966 Cotton Harvest With First Bale
E L Nash of Ector delivered the first Bonham bale of the 1966 cotton crop, produced from 185 acres with 2005 pounds of seed cotton yielding a 479-pound bale at 20 cents per pound and 800 pounds of seed sold at 72 dollars per ton. Nash foresees 60 to 70 bales from the year. The bale was ginned free.
