Raleigh reports Ocra coke Island in Pamlico Sound swept by yesterday's hurricane leaving 600 inhabitants presumed drowned. J B Blades of Newbern, a leading lumber mill owner, says belief is that no one escaped. New Bern sees streets flooded, small boats sunk, bridges destroyed, and lumber mills heavily damaged.
