Mr. Roger W. Babson urges that city dwellers return to home towns after the war while opportunities arise on good farms and in small communities. The ad lists multiple Texas farms with sizes from 27 to 344 acres offering pastures, cultivated land, wells, barns, electricity, and prices per acre, with long terms and references to government checks and livestock suitability.
The speaker reflects on discovering one’s mind heart and soul and warns that ambition to rule the world exceeds human reach. James Wright and Dan McAnally, Bonham natives and Army recruits, stay connected through frequent separations. Classmates from ward school to high school, they later pursued Texas A and M and NTAC studies before enlisting. They have been stationed in Texas, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Louisiana, and now New Orleans together.
Wayland New York September 3 Spokesmen for the Delaware Lackawanna and Western Railroad blamed the freight locomotive crew for the wreck of the Lackawanna Limited. Twenty six people were killed and about 75 injured in what was described as the nation’s worst railroad accident of 1943. Investigations ordered by the railroad and the New York Public Service Commission will determine causes after a formal investigation near Syracuse. Surviving crew members will be subpoenaed for hearings conducted with the Interstate Commerce Commission.

Corporal Clovis R. Potter U S Army Air Force has returned to his station in Independence Kansas after a 13 day furlough in Bonham. Private George Tarpley also from Independence Kansas is spending a short furlough in Bonham with his wife and relatives. Private Johnny Ferguson of Shreveport Louisiana ground crew lost a thumb in an accident at the field and notified Bonham relatives and friends. Lieutenant R W Baker formerly Bonham High School principal is now at Childress Texas AAF Base where he teaches science courses.
Pfe Fred Jones of the U S Army Air Forces, son of Mr and Mrs C R Jones, has been transferred from the Amarillo air base to the Army Air Base at Las Vegas New Mexico.
Mrs Sarah Elizabeth White died Tuesday at 7 30 a m at her home in Ector She was 81 on Aug 8 and had lived in Fetor since age seven Funeral services are set for 10 a m Thursday at Ector Baptist church Burial will be in Carson Wise Funeral Home in charge Survivors include son Walter F White of Ector two daughters Mrs Jeff Forg and Mrs Irene Hunter both of Ector two stepsons Leewm Calera Oklahoma and Jin Arkansas a sister Miss Ey lison of Wichita and several grandchildren and great grandchildren
