Mr and Mrs Woodrow Shrum were married Wednesday night in Hugo Oklahoma Dora Shelton daughter of Mr and Mrs Clyde Shelton of Paris becomes Mrs Shrum She is described as attractive and charming and a popular member of the younger set Woodrow Shrum son of Mr and Mrs Wheeler Shrum of Honey Grove works at Rowton Chevrolet Motor Co.
Saturday night Ansel Shrum and Mary Gibson married in Bonham by Rev Milam. They were accompanied by Mr and Mrs J B Sallee. The bride is the daughter of Arthur and Mrs Gibson. Ansel is the son of Wheeler and Mrs Shrum. Friends wish them a long and happy life.
Mr. and Mrs. J. N. Emmons celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary with an open house Sunday from 2 to 4 pm. The event featured vocal solos and duets by John Locke, Mervin Rutherford, and Roy Scott with Matt Shelton, readings by Mrs. P. P. Lawrence, and talks by Rev. Edgar Luttrell and Rev. T. J. Watts. The couple, who married November 27, 1879 in Maconry County Tennessee, live in Honey Grove and have six children. Both remain in good health and active, with Mr. Emmons tending his stock and Mrs. Emmons doing housework. They are longtime members of the Baptist church and have no deaths in the family.
Lavonia Texas special report notes Janet Lamb 85 pioneer resident dies at daughter's home Saturday morning. Born in Garland County Arkansas, funeral held Sunday at 10 am. Survived by two sons Jesse Lamb Wolfe City and Ollie Lamb Hot Springs Arkansas, three daughters J A Bishop V C Nickels Ladonia Maude Cloud Benton Ark, ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren.
