In a column survey of 750 editors, C. M. Harger of the Abilene Reflector Chronicle is named the most accurate predictor of Eisenhower's 1952 electoral vote total at 405. Others predicted 402, 400, or 350 plus. The Pomona Progress-Bulletin forecast popular vote best, at 32 million Ike to 26 Stevenson.

Crime Committee Sets Two Day Houston Meeting

Funeral services for Lena W Goin 76 of Wolfe City were held at Owens and Son Funeral Chapel. She died after a six month illness. Burial followed in Mount Carmel Cemetery. She was born June 14 1876 in Mississippi and lived in Wolfe City 26 years. She married James Madison Goin January 3 1900 and was survived by four sons and six daughters, among them Otha P Goin Harvey M Goin James A Goin Doyce V Goin and several daughters. a brother Jo Brock of Bailey. twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
