The Dodd City boys and girls defeated Kemp Oklahoma teams Friday night. The girls won 14-8 and the boys 30-20 with K Fletcher scoring nine points for the Dodd City boys and Elrod leading Kemp with five points. Whisenhunt led the Dodd City girls in scoring.

Ely announces the November edition of the Ely School News is off the press. Staff includes Editor Billy Ruth Holm, Associate Editor Jean Blackerby, with N H Davis, Lucille Dillenger, and Morris Hill among reporters and contributors across grades from seventh to first. Ely will soon have the benefit of this school newspaper.
Lonnie Rickets of Whitewright brought his Tigers to play the Ely Bulldogs on Wednesday October 30. They defeated Ely by a score of 12 to 8 as part of the hot lunch project and the students enjoyed fresh fruits.
William A. Dodd of Washington D C and Floyd A. Shumppert of Terrell supervised a Honey Grove census retake last week. The original count was 2454 residents, down 21 from 1939. The Chamber of Commerce sought a recount and four enumerators were used: Elmer Bramlett, Fred Collard, Miss Dorothy, and others assisted during the survey.
The work was completed Friday and 303 people were found who were not listed on the first census. This will increase the population to 2778.
Ladonia Nov 9 the chamber of commerce completed a sidewalk from the south entrance of the City Hall connecting to nearby streets. The project aims to improve pedestrian access and safety in the downtown area.
Water users are urged to pay their water bill by the 10th of the month to avoid penalty. A. L. Skeen, Water Superintendent.
