A would be burglar was caught Monday night after smashing a rear window at the Enco station at Center and 6th streets. Lelan B. Griffith the operator heard the break and apprehended the youth who was turned over to City Officers Fred Clark and Sam Patton.

In Saigon an assembly of rebel lawmakers protested a decree granting Lt. Gen. Nguyen Van Thieu veto and revision rights over the constitution they are drafting. The decree can be overruled by a two thirds vote, but MPs called it undemocratic as they seek to shift power toward an elected government. The body, elected Sept 1, aims to finish by February and has focused mostly on organization.
The Justice Department dispatched more federal examiners to 27 counties in four southern states to guard against potential violations of federal voting laws. Acting Atty Gen. Rumsey Clark said prior to today 46 counties in the deep South already had examiners scheduled. Mississippi Alabama Louisiana and South Carolina are named, with requests for more under the 1965 Voting Rights Act.
Viet Cong guerrillas abducted 90 to 110 villagers 75 miles southwest of Saigon in a nighttime raid. The mass kidnapping followed rising delta support for the government and comes as U S troops clash with Viet Cong near the Cambodian border in Operation Attleboro.
Astronauts James Lovell and Edwin Buzz Aldrin near final prelaunch reviews for Project Gemini 12 as conditions look favorable for a 3 55 p m est liftoff from Cape Kennedy. Atlas Agena rocket targets rendezvous practice during the mission with Aldrin slated for a two hour spacewalk and three hours in open hatch exercises.

A westward low pressure system has delayed the front and caused cold spells to the north. Morning temps ranged from 47 in Amarillo and 48 in Dalhart to 70 in Waco with fog and cloudy to partly cloudy skies statewide.
Investigating officers estimate damage at 175 in a pickup truck car collision at 10th and Center Monday afternoon. Officer Grisham identified James Henry Hassey Jr driving a pickup owned by C. W. Chaffin and Mrs Wanda Smith Wringt the car driver.
Texans went to the polls under near perfect conditions to choose among a closely contested U.S. senate race, the governorship, and all 23 congressional seats. Estimates put 1.7 million expected voters with nearly three million eligible.
A general election report shows 410 votes cast by 1 pm in Bonham with 200 in West Bonham at VFW Hall 500 Main, 165 in East Bonham in the jail basement, and 45 in South Bonham in the Sam Rayburn Federal Building Community Room. Polls close at 7 pm.
In Pasadena NASA delayed a mid course steering move for Orbiter 2 to adjust its path to the moon after losing stellar fix on Canopus. The plan was to fire a retro rocket at 4 56 a m PST to slow 58 mph and re acquire Canopus for a rescheduled maneuver. Orbiter 2, 151 404 miles from Earth at 2223 mph, was 123 512 miles from the Moon with 165 974 miles traveled.
Bonham firemen answered three grass fire alarms on May day. One fire was at Jones field, another west of the Gulf club, and the third near Wa dum along the T and F railroad track. A vacant house on the Lonnie Fuller place in the English community was destroyed by fire over the weekend.
