William Lo McAlister, father of Aubrey Ls McAlister, editor of the Bonham Daily Favorite, died at 1015 am Saturday November 4 1972 in a Fannin County hospital. Funeral services will be held in Walters Oklahoma with burial there. He had lived at Sunny Villa Nursing Home in Savoy the past weeks. Survivors include another son Ray McAlister of Fairfax Virginia two daughters Dorothy Anderson Hugton Kansas and Margaret McCarley Tulsa Oklahoma and several grandchildren. One daughter preceded him in death.
Voters in Fannin County prepare for a Tuesday election to choose president and state officials for terms of two to four years. The ballot lists four parties with candidates for various offices and 14 proposed Texas constitutional amendments. Poll sites include the courthouse in West and East Bonham and the Sam Rayburn Federal Building with absentee ballots already cast.
