Bonham area 1955 high school grads prepare for commencement
By 10 o'clock Monday night about 250 to 300 youths will close their high school careers as county schools finish graduation. Bonham High School plans a commencement address by Fd Gossett, general attorney for Southwestern Bell, for 61 graduates, while tonight Henry Gilbert will deliver the commencement sermon. The events mark a bittersweet farewell as students face new paths in college, military service, or work, entering a new phase as young men and women capable of independent decisions.

False General Alarm Traced to Alarm System

Bonham's four schools report an average of 1500 meals served daily, about 100 more than last year. The WPA started the program in 1943, with Ms. Sid Smith supervising. Meals cost twenty five to thirty cents, with free and reduced portions funded by the government, community contributions, and private aid.

Cool Front Triggers Scattered Light to Heavy Showers
A Pacific cool front moved through North Texas around seven Saturday evening, bringing scattered light to heavy showers over Fannin County. Bonham saw minor rainfall with reports up to a fraction of an inch to more than an inch in some areas. Motorists noted rain from Patines to Cumming as the front passed, and temperatures were expected to drop with drier weather behind the front. Rainfall in the northwest Bonham area reached about a quarter inch with heavier showers farther north in recent weeks.

Bonham Armory Fund Passes Milestone Toward Build
