An all women airplane race will be featured at the Harvard Aeronautical Association summer meet in Cambridge. Three competitors will wear their country colors with Mme Dutrive for France, Mrs James V Martin for England, and Miss Emily Willard representing the United States.
Federal soldiers battle insurgents crossing the Rio Grande into El Paso with heavy exchanges across Juarez. Reports say five Americans killed and at least a dozen wounded as turmoil surrounds Madero and rebel movements. Armistice talks begin amid massed U.S. troops along the border.
The Bonham Concert Band met in regular session last night and is progressing well. A commenter noted it sounds much better now than at the start, stressing practice as the key to headway. Hamlet’s play is the thing, and so is practice for this embryonic band.

Progress continues on lowering awnings at the west square for Hlargrove’s drug store and Norman’s grocery as the new lighting system installation nears completion. After awning work, attention shifts to the south end with the same plan, aiming to make the square safer and more attractive for all, including the elderly, by improving night visibility. Madeline Jones thanks supporters for help in the Favorite contest despite not winning. The Kindergarten Association will meet Wednesday at three with Mrs. J. Saunders to discuss important business and urge full member attendance.
