Texas faces major redistricting due to court rulings

Speaker Ben Barnes said Texas likely must redraw most of its 23 congressional districts this year after federal court actions in Houston. He plans to send Rep. Gus Mutscher and possibly Sen. J. P. Hickory Creek Water System Gets Federal Support

The Hickory Creek Water Supply Corporation received an insured loan of 235000 and a grant of 122000 to supply water to 161 rural families in south Fannin and north Hunt counties. It will drill a well in Woodbine sand, build two plants with 160000 gallon storage, 58 miles of mains, and pumping facilities serving over 785 people, two churches, two commercial establishments, no community centers, and a small airport. Officers are Bob N. Flery president Celeste Robert E. Holloway vice president and Juanda Macon secretary treasurer. The system will deliver 45000 gallons daily when finished.

Young Child Crowned in Pool Tragedy in Dallas Home

Laura Doyle a 3 year old daughter of Sp2 and Mrs Carl Doyle drowned in a pool at her mother Joyce Doyles Dallas home on Sunday March 5 1967. Stolen Bicycle Recovered By City Officers

City officers Bobby Madison and Jay Duckworth recovered a bicycle Friday night that had been taken from David Paul Woolsey on W. 9th Street. The bike was found abandoned by the officers Monday afternoon.

Investigating officers put damage at 225 after a two car collision at West 5th and Poplar on Sunday afternoon. Drivers identified as James Dunlop of Sherman and Mrs Neil Miller of Bonham by City Officers Sam Patton Fred Clark and Mayc Caldwell.

Three One Car Crashes Injure Two In Bonham Area

Sunday three one car accidents left two people injured in the Bonham area as wet pavement and skid conditions were reported. Highway Patrolman Dwain Cox identified Thomas Eller of Ivanhoe and Betty Clarkson of Plano among the injured, along with Edward Cartwright of Shawnee and Willie Ray White of Honey Grove in separate incidents on State 12 and U S 82.

Fire Destroys 700-Year-Old Orphanage in Grenoble

In Grenoble France a fire swept a 700-year-old orphanage housing 118 boys. Police report 14 killed 6 to 10 missing and 30 injured as youths aged 8 to 16 leaped from third story windows to escape flames. Some dead trapped by falling beams while others injured include one boy and five teachers.
