In a district court session the State of Texas against L. M. Baxter covered fourteen indictments. The defendant pled guilty to ten forgery charges and was sentenced to two years on each count. Prosecutors expect remaining indictments may be quashed as part of a leniency rationale. Brownlee Patterson, described as of dusky hue, faced forgery charges and possessing a forged instrument with questions about his involvement and intent.
