Frank Bireley’s Orange Juice Path From Campus to General Foods
Frank W. Bireley, a Stanford student, started by selling fresh orange juice on campus after building a hand squeezer. He studied oranges and perfected a noncarbonated pasteurized juice, later expanding to grapefruit tomato and grape juice. His Hollywood plant processes 250 tons daily and is part of General Foods. The Bonham area is served by Bob Lewis with Denison as the plant site.
