A Bonham citizen asked a Dallas firm about buying his Liberty Loan bond. The firm replied it would pay ninety cents on the dollar plus accrued interest. Citizens were told bonds would always be worth one hundred cents, and the piece urges protecting buyers from discounts used to exploit misfortune for profit. Government bonds sold at discounts undermine patriotic investment by citizens of limited means.
