The Justice Department will deploy over 700 federal officials to enforce Sherman Act price fixing bans. Attorney General Ramsey Clark announced 94 U.S. attorneys and 620 assistants will lead the crackdown, expanding beyond the Antitrust Division's prior sole responsibility.
US Marines report six killed and 96 wounded as Communist artillery hits Leatherneck bases Gio Linh Khe Sinh and patrols near Jill 881. B52 strikes target infiltration routes and storage near Khe Sanh while jets bomb rail depots north of Hanoi and supply routes into South Vietnam.
U.S. spokesmen said a Viet Cong radio broadcast implied Gustav Hertz an American AID staffer and civilian employee was executed. Hertz, 39, was kidnapped Feb 8 1965 while crossing Thu Due bridge near Saigon and his family later left Vietnam. The broadcast linked his fate to prior Viet Cong executions and suggested reprisal action similar to Sgt. Kenneth Roraback.
American warplanes including two Texan pilots carried out 115 missions against North Vietnam. Maj. Eugene L. Weidel of Beaumont and 1st Lt. Marlin R. Muller of Dallas bombed the Cao Nung railroad yard and damaged tracks. Jets hit the Nam Dinh thermal power plant again, destroying buildings and transformers and damaging a generator and towers. Kep rail yard also targeted for the fifth time since April 20.

A cool front moved through Sunday and has returned, with southerly winds now in effect. Bonham reached 84 degrees Monday with a 70 degree low. higher highs are expected this afternoon and Wednesday.

A two car crash on State Highway 78 five miles north of Bonham Monday left Melvin Littrell 23 of Ivanhoe Rt. 1 hospitalized. William Windle 66, a retired policeman, driven a 1957 car, pulled from a filling station as Littrell in a 1967 model headed north. Both vehicles suffered extensive damage.
City officers report vandals threw rocks at Big Smith Manufacturing Co on Monday night. No entry attempts were observed as windows shattered but the building remained secured. Two suspects were not identified in early notices.
President Johnson and Soviet Premier Kosygin agreed to ongoing direct contacts after two days of talks at Glassboro New Jersey. No date or place was set for any future meeting. Reports also said Johnson might meet King Hussein of Jordan in Washington later this week, but White House did not confirm.
