Several communities plan homecoming events. Windom expects the largest crowd for a school program starting at 10 a.m. with lunch at noon. Owen's Chapel holds a 11 a.m. service and basket lunch, followed by singing. Grove Hill Memorial services begin at 11 a.m. with a noon basket lunch.
Horizon Club girls hosted a Friday night Variety Show featuring performers who were listed as from Dodd City but clarified by Mrs. Lila Tadlock as being from the Lannius school. The students reacted to the mistaken attribution.
Jeff Washerlesky led Grandfather Fred Johnson on a playful chase at the post office on Saturday morning. He carried the office box key and watched a large box be unloaded before sitting on the front steps to enjoy the cool breeze and greet visitors. The Savoy High School executives reportedly enjoyed their first reunion that Saturday.

A 45 mile per hour limit will apply to U S 69 between Trenton and Leonard during highway rebuilding. Texas Highway Department engineers and officials approved the limit in Sherman on Friday. County Agent Wayne Cranfill warned Saturday that the corn earworm threatens heavy losses in Fannin County grain sorghum unless action is taken. Frank Roswell Moorman 24, convicted on five counts of failing to report for induction into the U S Army, was sentenced to five years in prison. Judge Joe Estey ordered concurrent five year terms. Moorman's attorneys said they would appeal and he remained free on an appeal bond.
